Founder and CEO

Herman DeBoard

Herman has spent his career at the apex of creative content creation, business development, and technology. With a Master's Degree in Communication Studies and a Ph.D. in Education, Herman has set himself up to compete with the best minds in business and marketing.

After 13 years in senior-level Government where he held titles such as Program Manager III, Chief of Communications and Director of Technology, managing multi-million dollar budgets for State and Federal agencies, he took his talents to the private business world.

Along the way he has tallied some major accomplishments. From album and video creation with major and former #1 music artists to filing patents on major technology products that were sold to public companies, to partnerships with major Big Box Retailers such as Target and Best Buy, Herman has proven his ability to take an idea from thought to fully executed business.

In addition, Herman has run original idea companies that were nationally distributed. He lead one of the largest music distribution companies in the early 2000’s where he personally secured contracts with Sony, Warner, Universal, EMI and more. He co-founded an innovative social media micro-business start up who held contracts with the NBA Players Association, Lou Ferrigno and more and he built and patented an innovative tech-sales tool currently licensed by Major League Baseball. Herman has always sought out and excelled at challenges in the business world.

Herman is also a Decorated Veteran of the Gulf War where he honorably served in the US Air Force.

James Martin

James’ career has focused on digital transformation through smart cloud solutions and integrating, Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning innovation over the last 15 years.

He helps organizations enable sustainable growth and an excellent client user experience. With a Bachelor of Science Degree from Penn State University in Management Information Systems, and a Masters in Leadership James has operated in high-level senior roles leading and building global operations and client services groups.

His entrepreneurial experience began when he established a web development company in 2004 and co-founded and led the development of an innovative social network focused on premium content, partnering with the likes of the NBA and elite athletes globally.

He’s an All-American Athlete and a standout State Championship Coach, with a focus on mindset performance.

David Liakas

David brings over 25 years of sales, business development, partnership development and management consulting experience. Early in his career he alternated between sales and technical positions, having roles he would eventually sell to with a first-hand understanding what was important to his customers.

Working with and for companies ranging from start ups to Fortune 50, nationally and internationally, his focus had been driving the growth of companies and territories through new sales, account penetration, exceptional customer service and partnership development.

David’s diverse business and technical background enables him to develop relationships quickly and become a trusted advisor that can understand complex needs and deliver relevant and valuable solutions.

Darrell Covell

Throughout his career, Darrell has successfully started and sold seven Defense and Cybersecurity-related technology companies. After a successful career in the Radio Frequency field, he focused his efforts in cybersecurity in the wake of September 11, 2001, Darrell is regarded as an expert in this field and, as such, is sought after as a speaker in multiple venues, particularly about future threats regarding the risks and responsibilities of offensive cyber operations. As the Founder and CTO of Rsignia he recognized the real problem and risks of cybersecurity mitigation vis a vis real-time cyber-attacks. Under his direction, Rsignia’s engineers worked closely with the DoD and Intelligence community to address current cyber warfare issues such as ID spoofing, location attribution, fiber tapping, sonnet capture, layer correlations, and more. He has authored many technical papers on cyber security threat mitigation and various kinetic and non-kinetic approaches and blending of the two. Previously, he won the American Security Challenge for his white paper on strategic mitigation in cyber environments. He currently serves on several BoA's with tech firms as well as serving as CTO for Endeavor Technology Group. He holds a B.S. in Electrical Engineering from CIT.

Ryan Downs

Ryan is currently President of Unison, a San Francisco-based fintech company. Unison enables homeowners to access the equity in their homes without incurring debt or making monthly payments. In exchange for providing liquidity to the homeowner, Unison shares in the appreciation of the home over time. Ryan oversees all the company’s operations, and manages its relationships with thousands of homeowners around the country.
From 2010 until 2020, Ryan served as President and CEO of Proxibid, an online marketplace for buying and selling highly valued items, including fine art, antiques and collectibles, automobiles, construction equipment, farm equipment, trucks, commercial and industrial equipment, and real estate. Proxibid’s 4000 sellers and two million buyers engaged in approximately $6B in sales volume annually, primarily through an auction format. In February 2020, Ryan led the company through a successful acquisition by a private equity group in the United Kingdom.
From 2001 to 2009, Ryan served as one of the top executives at PayPal, a leading online payment service. As Senior Vice President of Worldwide Operations, Ryan was responsible for approximately 5700 FTEs engaged in numerous functions, including consumer service, merchant service, sales, compliance, and risk operations. In addition to his PayPal responsibilities, Ryan also managed eBay Global Customer Support, which included an additional 6000 FTEs, from 2007 to 2008.
From 2000 to 2001, Ryan served as Chief Executive Officer for eTopia Technologies, Inc., an Omaha-based web development and IT consulting firm. Before that, he was a partner at the law firm of Bartlit Beck Herman Palenchar & Scott in Denver, Colorado, where he specialized in complex commercial litigation.
Ryan currently serves on the Board of Directors for Assurity Life Insurance Company in Lincoln, Nebraska. He also serves on several nonprofit boards, including Bellevue University, NorthStar, King of Kings Lutheran Church, and the Corporate Advisory Board for the Jeffrey S. Raikes School of Computer Science and Management at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln.
Ryan earned a B.S. in Agricultural Sciences in 1991 from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln and a J.D. from Harvard Law School in 1994. He was born and raised on his family’s farm outside Hershey, Nebraska, and currently resides in Springfield, Nebraska with his wife, Valerie, and their three children, Emily, Lauren, and Carson.Former CEO of Proxibid, Former Senior Vice President of Worldwide Operations at Paypal,

Lavaille Lavette

With bachelor degrees in mathematics and accounting and a Master's in Education Management. Lavaille has worked as an investment broker, schoolteacher, school district administrator, speechwriter and marketing executive. An educational expert, Lavaille served as the Special Advisor to the U.S. Secretary of Education, Dr. Rod Paige. Currently she heads up an educational marketing consulting firm and multi-media packaging company that specialized in consumer youth marketing. The company develops and markets products in the publishing, music and video industry.

Lavaille serves on the board of directors of the Greater Houston Convention and Visitors Bureau, Aspiring Youth Foundation, Foxshire Foundation and is a Founding Board Member and the first President of the Houston-Luanda Africa Sister City Association. She is involved in a number of international charitable ventures in Africa.

Experienced Investment/Corporate Development Professional with a demonstrated history of success across a wide variety of investment structures and industries. Completed transactions ranging from Buyouts and Venture Capital, to Mezzanine Debt and Secondary purchases. Invested across industries including travel, telecom, software, professional services and retail. Skilled in Financial Modeling, Analytical Skills and Strategy. Realized I had a passion for business and technology from a young age and chose to pursue both in college culminating in a dual discipline degree in finance and industrial engineering.

An American music industry and digital entertainment executive. He currently serves as principal of DEV Advisors, a digital entertainment consultancy that provides expertise to service providers, app developers, content owners and investors. He is a board member and partner in NY-based Big House Music Publishing and a lifetime member of NARAS (Grammys).

Cathleen Domanico

Cathleen Domanico is a Senior Global Marketing Executive, Strategist and Visionary Leader.
She has more than 30 years of experience in senior organizational, sales and marketing leadership within regional, national and global organizations. Her career spans from client/creative management in marketing agencies, adjunct professor, numerous board appointments, marketing leader in global travel and tourism marketing and museum experiential marketing. As a global marketing executive, Domanico has experience in every aspect of marketing strategy and execution to create, implement and execute growth strategies delivering immediate and long-term results
Cathleen was most recently, the Vice President of Global Trade Development for Brand USA, the tourism and marketing agency for the United States of America. She was responsible for the management of 22 international offices and developed global strategies to help bring leisure travelers to the United States. She also served for 11 years as the Vice President of Tourism and Leisure Sales for Choose Chicago, the official tourism and marketing agency for the City of Chicago.
A 35-year marketing veteran, Cathleen previously held the Vice President of Marketing and Business Development position at the Notebaert Nature Museum. She was responsible for directing all revenue functions at the Museum including the café, gift shop, marketing, public relations, advertising, research, membership, tourism and special events departments.

Cathleen’s resume also includes National Vice President of Consumer Marketing at General Growth Properties, and Director of Corporate Sponsorship and Membership at the Museum of Science and Industry.
Cathleen received a Bachelor of Arts degree from Saint Mary’s College, Notre Dame, Indiana, and a Master of Arts degree from Northern Illinois University in DeKalb, Illinois. She is a compassionate leader with the ability to listen to the needs of others and is ready to roll up her sleeves to get the job done!

Dr. Ted Reynolds

Dr. Ted Reynolds is the Director of the Terrorism Studies Program for the Global Perspectives Office, and serves as Visiting Lecturer on Intelligence and Terrorism for the Political Science Department at UCF. His work focuses on understanding terrorist/extremist radicalization and participation, particularly within social media and other computer mediated communication (CMC) environments. Reynolds is a graduate of Rollins College with a B.A. in International Affairs, has an M.A. in Political Science from UCF, and acquired his Ph.D. in International Relations from the University of St. Andrews in Scotland. As a Visiting Lecturer at UCF, he teaches classes in Terrorism Studies, the Intelligence Community, and Cyberwarfare Policy. He also works as a subject matter expert on terrorist/extremist use of social media and CMC in the radicalization, recruitment, and mobilization process. This work is focused toward the development and creation of effective cyber tools and strategies in various areas related to national security.

Reginald Hyde

Reginald Hyde currently advises on technology and investment financing through Oak Mountain Ventures and Consulting, as well as through participation on Boards of Directors and Advisory Boards. During a 30-year CIA career, he served in four overseas postings as a CIA operations officer, including two as a Station Chief. In addition to serving as the Executive Assistant to the Director of Central Intelligence and his Deputy, he served in several Senior Executive positions within the Agency and founded and built a major technology center. Mr. Hyde helped stand up the Intel Community’s Strategic Venture element, In-Q-Tel, in 2000, and later returned to IQT as the senior IC advisor to IQT’s CEO and as a member of the Executive Team. While at IQT, Mr. Hyde focused on Venture Capital, Cyber security, Big Data and Predictive Analytics, as well as M&A activity involving those technologies. Mr. Hyde concluded his government career as the Deputy Under Secretary of Defense for Intelligence and Security, at the Pentagon where he was responsible for Policy and Oversight of the intelligence portfolio for the military. Mr. Hyde was promoted to the civilian equivalent of a military three-star in 2005. Following his retirement from government in 2013, Mr. Hyde founded and served as the Executive Director of the University of Alabama Cyber Institute for five and a half years before returning to Washington, DC, to pursue private business full time. He holds a BS and JD from the University of Alabama and a Master’s Degree from the Woodrow Wilson School of Public and International Affairs.

Barb Fast

Major General (Ret) Barbara Fast is President/CEO of BGF Enterprises. Following an Army career in service, joint and coalition intelligence, cyber, and operations, she led business areas at Boeing (Cyber and Information Solutions) and CGI Federal (Army and Defense Intelligence), retiring in 2015. While in the Army, she commanded at all levels; served as the Associate Deputy Director-Military Operations then S1 at the National Security Agency; and as the Director of Intelligence, U.S. European Command and later Combined Joint Task Force-7/Multi-National Forces-Iraq. She is on the board of American Public Education, Inc, (NASDAQ: APEI) where she has served as Chairman and on the Nominating and Governance and Compensation Committees. She is Chair of the Board of the Hondros College of Nursing. She is a Strategic Advisor for Sierra Nevada Corporation, a privately held aerospace engineering company specializing in integration capabilities for space, aviation, and defense. General Fast also serves on the Board of Directors of Beacon Roofing Supply (NASDAQ: BECN), a Fortune 500 Company, where she serves on the Audit and Nominating and Governance Committees. She is a Trustee for the Alabama School of Cyber Technology and Engineering; on the Commission for the U.S. Space and Rocket Center; and Chairs the Huntsville, Alabama Cyber Advisory Council. She has received numerous awards, including the Defense Superior Service Medal, the Legion of Merit, and Bronze Star. General Fast graduated from the University of Missouri with a BSE, received her MSBA from Boston University, is a graduate of the U.S. Army War College, and received an Honorary Doctorate of Laws from Central Missouri State University.

An accomplished entrepreneur, business executive, and technology strategist with 30+ years leading public, private, and nonprofit entities, Pete uphold a fervor for working in partnership with Government, Industry, Investor and Academia ecosystems to unearth inventive solutions, accelerate sustainable adoption, and streamline private-sector commercialization.
A trusted thought leader with corporate savvy and substantive technical proficiency, Pete maintains several Advisory Board roles in which businesses leverage his aptitude to facilitate digital transformation, mitigate critical infrastructure risk, and humanize economic benefit.

Pete received my B.A. in Communications from Villanova University and earned my M.S. in Information and Telecommunication Systems from Johns Hopkins University. Most importantly, I am blessed with an incredible wife (Betsy) and four amazing children (Jacob, Joshua, Gabrielle, and Zachary), in addition to an Australian Labradoodle (Phineas Maximus Tseronis).

Doug Hughes

Doug Hughes is a business leader with more than 20 years of experience in education and educational technology, including adaptive learning, digitalization, and Software as a Service (SaaS).
Previously, Doug served as CEO of Surgarai, Inc., a medical technology startup, and as chief product officer at Knewton, an adaptive learning company recently acquired by Wiley. Prior to that, Doug spent 17 years at McGraw-Hill Education, Higher Education Group, where he served in various senior leadership roles including chief sales officer, director of digital partnerships, and executive brand manager.
Doug is a first-generation college student who began his career in the US Army as a crew member on an M1A1 Abrams main battle tank. He holds a BBA in business information systems from the University of West Georgia and an MBA from the University of Phoenix.

Jan Horsfall

Jan Horsfall ran the marketing unit at Valvoline, before taking over the same unit at Lycos. Lycos executed the fastest IPO in the history of NASDAQ before adding a five-year stock run-up of 3,000% before being sold to Terra Networks for $4.5 billion. Jan’s held the CEO role at Gemini Voice (sold to Novo Networks), Gelazzi (sold to Big Freeze LLC), Universal Energy (sold to PetroChoice) and the CMO role at Turbine, Inc. (sold to Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment). Recently he started Maxletics Corp - a sports tech company - and VoterVac - a political tech unit of Maxletics. He co-founded Startup Colorado after earlier serving on the board of the Colorado Springs Technology Incubator. He has been a mentor for Exponential Impact '18, '19 and '20. He sits on the board of NorthWestern Energy (NASDAQ: NWE) where he chairs the Safety, Environmental, Technology and Operations (SETO) committee.

Kevin Holmes

Mr. Holmes has over 25 years of experience in the financial industry. He possesses a BS in electrical engineering from Tufts University in Medford, MA and an MBA with a concentration in finance from Loyola University Maryland in Baltimore. He has been awarded numerous academic honors.
Mr. Holmes began his career as an electrical engineer for the US Department of Defense, working at Aberdeen Proving Ground. Upon achieving his MBA, he began working in the financial industry. He spent several years as a licensed broker and analyst at various firms including Sunset Financial and Global Financial. In late 1996, Mr. Holmes co-founded Chesapeake Group. His ability to take complex concepts and simplify them for the financial community has made him a solid asset for the firm.
Mr. Holmes is a published author and sits on the board of many other companies and organizations.
